Reaction was mixed to the White House Correspondents Dinner continuing after shots were fired in the venue and President Donald Trump and others were rushed from the room.
One user X commented: “Now they’re talking about continuing this show? Are they crazy?
“HOLY CRAP! President Trump is STORMING BACK to the stage at the WHCA Dinner after the shooter was downed,” added conservative journalist Eric Daugherty. It’s unclear if Trump is returning to the event.

On Saturday night, as the media’s annual event got underway, shots rang out and sent people looking for cover. The source of the shots is unknown, as the condition of the shooter.
However, shortly after the incident, Correspondents Association President Weija Jiang said the event would continue.
“I know everyone is going to want as many details as possible and right now we don’t have them but our program is going to resume momentarily,” she said.
“We will have more details to share momentarily but for now but please be patient.”
