Three months after collapsing onstage in New York, 24-year-old pop star Lola Young made her first public appearance on Friday, December 19, at Lily Allen’s Christmas event in London.

She posed for photos with Olivia Rodrigo and the evening’s hostess, giving fans a hopeful sign of her recovery.

The next day, Young shared her first social media post since the incident at the All Things Go Festival in Queens, New York, on September 27.

“I just wanted to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place,” she wrote on Saturday, December 20. “I’ve felt so much love and support from you all and it has helped more than you will ever know.”

The “Messy” singer added, “I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams. Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026.”

She wrapped up her post, writing, “Life is a journey, nothing is perfect but today I am doing well. All my love always, Lola.”

The health scare occurred during her performance of “Conceited” at Forest Hills Stadium. Medical personnel quickly responded and assisted her offstage, according to People. Moments later, fellow performer Remi Wolf addressed the audience, visibly shaken.

“That was really f—— scary,” she said. “My friend Lola is backstage, and she is okay.”

At the start of her set, Young opened up to the crowd, hinting at the challenges she’d been navigating.

“I’ve had a tricky couple of days. Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”

Following the incident, Young made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of her performances to prioritize her mental health and well-being.

Her cancellations affected a performance at the All Things Go Festival in Washington, D.C., as well as several tour dates across the U.K. and North America.

“I’m going away for a while,” she wrote at the time. “It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.”
